Refrigerant gas R448A Description

R448A is a non-flammable refrigerant with a safety classification of A1, featuring a low Global Warming Potential (GWP) that is 68% lower than that of R404A. It has a slightly higher density, which may result in a marginally higher charge requirement (0% to 3%), while reducing electricity consumption by 5% to 15%.

Application Guidelines:

R448A is widely used in cold storage facilities, food freezing equipment, and marine refrigeration systems. During storage, cylinders must be kept away from open flames and heat sources, and direct sunlight should be avoided. They should be stored in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area. All handling must be performed with care to prevent damage to cylinders, valves, and accessories.

Advantages:

As a retrofit solution, R448A can directly replace R404A and R22 in medium and low-temperature commercial refrigeration applications. Its adoption enhances system efficiency, reduces energy consumption, and lowers maintenance costs.

Environmental Conditions:

  Store in a cool, well-ventilated area such as a dedicated storage room or shaded outdoor location with ambient temperature not exceeding 50°C
